WWDC 2024: Apple may introduce watchOS 11 for Apple Watch with new features

WWDC 2024

. One of the significant features of this highly anticipated software update will be related to the Apple Watch’s

Health app

. Moreover, new features for communication, fitness and safety are expected to arrive for Apple’s flagship smartwatch. Meanwhile, the rumoured AI-powered version of

Siri

may also impact users who use the Cupertino-based tech giant’s virtual assistant on their wrist.

The upcoming software update is likely to ship on the

Apple Watch Series 10

(or X) and the rumoured Apple Watch Ultra 3.
Apart from the watchOS 11 update, Apple is also expected to announce new software for its other products, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac,

Apple TV

and Vision Pro at the event. The WWDC 2024 event is set to start today (June 10) at 10.30 pm IST at

Apple Park

WatchOS 11 for Apple Watch: What to expect

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Apple Watch Health app is expected to arrive with an “improved blood pressure data management — in preparation for future Apple Watches to have hypertension detection.”
Apple may start rolling out this feature with the upcoming Apple Watch model (Apple Watch Series 10) which is expected to launch later this year. The report also notes that the feature may become available for current Apple Watches, including the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 later.
As per the report, the Health app may also “better tailor data, such as cycle tracking, if a person is pregnant.” The watchOS 11 update is also expected to debut an updated Siri interface and “major changes” to some key apps like Fitness.
