In a recent incident that has captured the attention of the internet, a video featuring an IndiGo airline staff member named Nethra has gone viral. The footage shows Nethra engaging in a conversation with a passenger, Prajnaa, regarding the airline's inability to provide accommodation due to a flight delay caused by fog. The video has sparked considerable discussion online, with many expressing support for the staff member's calm handling of the situation.
It all began when Prajnaa's flight was delayed by over eight hours because of foggy conditions, leading to an extended stay at the airport. In the video, Prajnaa confronts Nethra about the airline's policy on providing accommodation during such delays. Prajnaa claims that despite there being a rule entitling customers to accommodation, the IndiGo manager, Nethra, refused to provide one. She also accuses Nethra of being rude prior to the recording of the video.

It was the middle of the night and the flight was delayed for more than 8hrs. Despite of being a rule from the airlines where the customers are entitled to accommodation the indigo manager denied of providing one. She was very rude before I took this video. pic.twitter.com/6q9loanqOr

However, the response from the internet community has largely been in favor of Nethra. Commenters have pointed out that airline staff like Nethra do not have the authority to offer accommodation for delays caused by natural events such as fog. Many have commended Nethra for her calm and professional demeanor while explaining the airline's policies to the passenger. There is also a sentiment that filming such interactions is inappropriate and an invasion of the staff member's privacy.
One social media user praised Nethra's composure, stating, "Kudos to Nethra, for handling this so well @IndiGo6E. she’s a star." The person also noted that passengers should be more understanding of the challenges airlines face during weather-related delays. They suggested that government and airport authorities should be held accountable for not having adequate technology, such as CAT III instrument landing systems, which could prevent such disruptions.
