Armed officers from the Metropolitan Police were scrambled to a location successful Havering connected Monday day aft reports that a pistillate had been attacked.

Paramedics, including the aerial ambulance, were besides called to the spot successful Cornwall Close, Hornchurch.

Sadly the woman, who was successful her 50s, was pronounced dormant astatine the scene. Her household is being supported by specializer officers.

Police person confirmed they person seized 2 dogs from the property, some of which were registered XL Bullys owned by the woman.

A Met Police spokesperson said: 'A pistillate successful her 50s has died aft an incidental wrong a location successful Hornchurch.

'Police were called to Cornwall Close astir 1.12pm connected Monday, May 20, to reports of a pistillate attacked by a dog. The pistillate was treated by medics from London Ambulance Service, but sadly she was pronounced dormant astatine the scene.

'Due to the menace posed, equipped officers attended. After assessing the situation, officers were capable to safely prehend 2 dogs.

'These were registered XL Bully dogs and anterior to officers' accomplishment had been contained wrong a country successful the house. They did not permission the location astatine immoderate clip during the incident. 

'The household of the woman, who was the proprietor of the dogs, are being supported by officers.'
