Woman hit cello player with bottle in Herald Square subway station: NYPD

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A woman allegedly whacked a cello player in the head with a metal bottle in the Herald Square subway station on Tuesday, police said.

The man, 29, was playing the instrument in the mezzanine at the 34th St-Herald Square station when the woman struck him with the bottle in an unprovoked attack at around 5:45 p.m., according to the NYPD. The musician suffered a cut to the head, police said.

The suspect was last seen running out of the subway station and heading towards Broadway between West 34th and West 35th streets, authorities said.

There have been no arrests.
