EAST HARLEM, N.Y. (PIX11) -- An arrest has been made in connection to the death of a female who was located with multiple puncture wounds on Tuesday, according to the NYPD.
Candido Rodriguez, 51, of Manhattan, was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the first degree.
Police conducted a wellness check on 33-year-old Melanie Woods after her family reported she missed a flight, according to sources.
Woods was found unresponsive in the bathtub in her apartment on 2nd Avenue with puncture wounds to the left torso and a laceration to the neck, according to the NYPD.
Police say Rodriguez and Woods were in a relationship and this case is domestic in nature.
