MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – The NYPD released the identity of a woman who was found dead in a New York City hotel room with a bloody iron near her body, according to police sources.

Denisse Oleas-Arancibia, 38, of Queens, was found dead at the SoHo 54 Hotel at 54 Watts St. in Lower Manhattan Thursday morning, NYPD officials said.

A housekeeping employee found Oleas-Arancibia, who had cuts to her face, according to police sources.

Hotel guests said police were knocking on doors asking if anyone had seen or heard anything.

“We did not hear anything from the hours of, like, 1 a.m. until the staff was knocking on the door,” said Victoria Marinucci, who was staying in the room next door to the victim on the 11th floor.

The New York City medical examiner’s office will determine Oleas-Arancibia’s cause of death. No arrests have been made in the case.
