Woman attacked while sleeping in her Long Island home: NCPD

LEVITTOWN, Long Island (PIX11) – A woman was attacked while she was sleeping in her Long Island home on Sunday, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Officers responded to the Levittown home for a possible burglary around 2:30 a.m. The 64-year-old victim told police she was awoken by a person, who struck her in the face with an unknown object, according to authorities.

She was taken to a local hospital for her injuries, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.
