Woman, 86, killed in house fire in Queens; 3 others injured: officials

REGO PARK, Queens (PIX11) – An 86-year-old woman was killed in a fire in Queens, according to officials.

The fire broke out on 66th Avenue just before 11 p.m. Tuesday in Rego Park, officials said.

Crews arrived and found the woman dead inside her home around 11:30 p.m. The victim has been identified by police as Rosemary Monoco.

A 54-year-old man was also taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The victims are mother and son, sources told PIX11 News.

Two firefighters were also injured in the fire, according to the FDNY.

The fire marshall and Red Cross were on the scene though no one has been displaced from their homes, officials said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
