NEW DELHI:
Angkrish Raghuvanshi
announced his arrival on the big stage as the young Kolkata Knight Riders batter left an indelible mark with a stunning half-century against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday.
Raghuvanshi, who missed out on batting in his debut IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, showcased his prowess with a rapid-fire 54 off 27 balls, forming a scintillating 104-run partnership with Sunil Narine off just 48 balls.
Raghuvanshi, the right-handed batter, emerged as India's top run-scorer during the 2022 Under-19 World Cup in the Caribbean, contributing significantly to India's victory.
Despite recording a two-ball duck against England in the final, Raghuvanshi finished fourth on the overall scorers' list, accumulating 278 runs from six innings.
Originally hailing from Delhi, Raghuvanshi relocated to Mumbai at the age of 11, where he commenced his cricket training under the guidance of
Abhishek Nayar
and Omkar Salvi. Not long after, he made the decision to permanently shift to Mumbai.
Raghuvanshi made his List A and T20 debuts for Mumbai during the 2023-24 season. Subsequently, he was acquired by the KKR for Rs 20 lakh ahead of the
IPL 2024
season.
