Titanic
, putting an end to the ongoing debate about the "door." She explained that what people think is a door is actually a part of the ship's bannister, according to People magazine.
When asked if there was "room on the door" for her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, who played

, Kate was ready for the question.
Kate Winslet anticipated the common Titanic question about the door, explaining that the floating object wasn't actually a door. She clarified that it was a piece of the ship’s bannister, likely from the stairway, that had broken off during the scene.
Since the film's release in 1997, the scene has sparked numerous debates among fans, with many questioning if there was enough space for both Jack and Rose on the floating debris.
Director James Cameron even ordered a study to investigate the question, using stunt doubles to recreate different scenarios. He suggested that while Jack could have survived, there were many factors to consider, particularly Jack’s mindset, which was focused on ensuring Rose’s safety above all else.
During a Q&A for her new film, Lee, Kate jokingly mentioned how often Leonardo gets asked about their famous moment from Titanic. She also shared that the water in the scene wasn’t as deep as it looked in the movie.
