NEW YORK (PIX11) – The start of congestion pricing in New York City is now under a month away.
The MTA’s congestion pricing plan is set to start on June 30.
Cars and SUVs entering Manhattan below 60th Street will be charged a $15 toll once a day between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays and between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. Trucks and buses could be charged between $24 to $36, depending on their size.
People who make less than $50,000 a year and travel frequently into the congestion pricing zone can apply for a discount on the peak toll. Emergency vehicles, school buses, and commuting buses are exempt from congestion pricing, according to the MTA.
