WhatsApp is currently in the process of rolling out a feature that will enable users to filter their chats list to display their favourite contacts in the near future.

Users will have the ability to select their favourite contacts manually, allowing them to easily reach out to the individuals they care about most through a dedicated filter.
“By allowing users to mark specific contacts as favorites, WhatsApp enables them to prioritize key conversations, ensuring quick and easy access to those they frequently interact with. The introduction of favorite contacts not only simplifies the process of reaching out to frequently contacted users but also adds a layer of customization, allowing them to improve their messaging experience to suit their preferences,” mentions the report.
WhatsApp working on Apple SharePlay-like feature

Recent reports suggest that WhatsApp is in the works of implementing a new feature that will enable users to share audio and video during video calls. According to WABetaInfo, this functionality will become available when users activate the screen-sharing feature during video calls.
This new capability, essentially an expansion of the existing screen-sharing feature, will allow users to share both audio and video content during their video calls. Currently, WhatsApp's screen-sharing feature permits users to share non-protected video content with others during a video call. With this enhancement, users will be able to share and collectively listen to audio content with all participants in the video call.
