introduced the Channels
feature
in India last year in June. For those unaware, WhatsApp Channel is a one-way broadcasting
tool
within the WhatsApp app, separate from private messaging, designed to help people and organisations share information with large audiences. Now a new report by WABetaInfo reveals that the Meta-owned app is rolling out a feature to access
channel reports
.
As per the report, the ability to
access
channel reports is available for Android beta testers and it comes with update version 2.24.5.11. This feature was designed to list all channel reports submitted by users, offering them valuable insights into the results of reports they’ve previously submitted to the moderation team.
Certain beta testers will have the opportunity to explore a new feature accessible within the app settings, providing them with comprehensive insights into the outcomes of their submitted reports. Primarily, reports concerning channel updates or entire channels flagged on WhatsApp will be consolidated within this section. As a result, users can conveniently assess and track the status of these reports with ease.
“By providing users with the ability to access detailed insights into the outcomes of their reports, WhatsApp is fostering a sense of accountability and empowerment. When users can see the tangible impact of their actions, they are more likely to feel motivated to continue reporting inappropriate content or behaviour, contributing to make the platform safer for all users,” mentions the report.
