President Joe Biden's son

Hunter Biden

has been keeping a close watch on his father now following the debate disaster. The White House has clarified that

Joe Biden

is not opting out of the race but according to reports the entry of Hunter Biden, convicted of felony gun charges, into the official circle of the President has made White House staff members asking each other, "What the hell is happening?".

White House confirmed that Hunter Biden was in the room as Joe Biden was preparing to deliver an address in reaction to the Supreme Court's opinion of presidential immunity. Hunter was also in-charge of the family get together that took place at Camp David just following the debate disaster.
"Hunter came back with him and walked with him into that meeting, that prep, that speech prep, and you know, and he ended up spending time with his dad and his family that night," White House press secretary Jean-Pierre told reporters Tuesday.
Hunter Biden was a regular at the White House residence and events, but he never attended his father's meetings. But after the gaffes in the debate which put Biden's candidacy in question, Hunter is there -- keeping a close watch. This comes a month after Hunter's conviction in gun-related charges.

Reports said Hunter Biden has been advising his father as Biden's long-time advisers could not foil to ship-wreck like debate from happening. A person told the NBC News that Hunter was present in a couple of meetings and some of the phone calls that the president has had with some of his advisers.
Hunter Biden's presence in the White House this week also had July 4 holiday as a reason. Apart from Dr Jill Biden who is fiercely advocating for Biden remaining in the race, Hunter is also against the idea of his father opting out of the race.
