Weapons, Pak-made chocolates recovered from terrorists killed in Kathua attack

Two terrorists were killed after they opened fire at a village near the International Border (IB) in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday night.

Security forces on Wednesday recovered several Pakistan-made items, such as chocolates, medicines and more from slain terrorists who attacked a village near the International Border (IB) in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The terrorist attack in Kathua's Saida Sukhal village occurred on Tuesday night, in which a civilian was injured. During a search operation, two terrorists were killed.

One Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was critically injured, who later succumbed to his injuries.

DETAILED SEIZURE REPORT OF KATHUA ATTACK

  • Weapons: 1 M4 carbine and 1 AK-47
  • Ammunition: 3 magazines containing 30 rounds each, 1 magazine with 24 rounds, and 75 rounds in separate polythene bags
  • Explosives: 3 live grenades
  • Currency: Rs 1 lakh (200 notes of Rs 500 denomination)
  • Eatables: Pakistan-made chocolates, dry chana, and stale chapatis
  • Medical Supplies: Pakistan-made medicines and injections (painkillers), and 1 syringe
  • Miscellaneous Items: 2 packs of A4 batteries, 1 handset wrapped in tape with an antenna and 2 wires hanging from it

Anand Jain, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu stated that the operation has not been called off yet, as there may be more terrorists hiding in the area.

At least four terror attacks have taken place in the Reasi, Kathua, and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir over the past three days, resulting in the deaths of 11 persons, including a CRPF jawan, and two terrorists. Search and combing operations are ongoing in the Poonch, Rajouri and Reasi districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir Police has also issued an "alert advisory" in the otherwise peaceful Jammu region, urging residents to stay vigilant regarding the movement of suspicious individuals and objects.

Police vehicles equipped with loudspeakers made announcements in Akhnoor and Jammu areas, urging the people to remain alert and report any suspicious activities or objects.
