Pathan brothers
helped their team book a semi-final clash against Australia Champions with some lusty blows against
South Africa Champions
at the County Ground in Northampton on Wednesday.
Chasing a 211-run victory target, India Champions were looking down the barrel at 77/5 when
Irfan
walked in to join his brother
Yusuf
at the crease.
Yusuf smashed 2 sixes and 4 sixes in his unbeaten 44-ball 54 and Irfan's 35-run knock came off 21 balls and was studded with a six and 4 fours.
The Pathan brothers put up a quickfire 56-run stand before Irfan was run out.
The official broadcaster of the World Championship of Legends, shared a short video of the Pathan brothers' knock in which they are taking the South Africa Champions' bowlers to the cleaners, rolling back the years.
Though South Africa Champions won the match by 54 runs, India Champions qualified for the semi-final on the basis of a superior net run rate.
India Champions' semi-final against Australia Champions is scheduled for Friday.
Both Yusuf and Irfan have retired from the game, and while the younger brother Irfan has turned into a commentator, elder brother Yusuf is a Lok Sabha MP from Behrampore.
