NEW DELHI: Lucknow Super Giants captain
KL Rahul
turned 33 on Thursday (April 18) and there were birthday celebrations in the LSG, the video of which was shared by the franchise.
During the LSG practice session, a few fans also came to the
Ekana stadium
in Lucknow with banners and photos to wish Rahul happy birthday.
Rahul acknowledged the fans' wishes by almost walking up to them and thanked them for the wishes.
With LSG set to face defending champions Chennai Super Kings on Friday, there was time for handshakes and greetings between the players of the two teams.
In another video shared by LSG on Thursday, CSK all-rounder
Shardul Thakur
walked upto Rahul to greet him, with Rahul saying, "Lord se mile bana kahan jaunga," as both share a warm hug.
But later Thakur realizes that it's the birthday of the LSG captain, so he walked upto him again saying, "Aapka birthday hai Rahul bhai? Sorry yaar, isiliye tika-wika laga ke aya," as both shake hands and hug again.
Although LSG are still placed in the top half of the points table, a couple of losses have threatened to derail their campaign and they'll be eager to get back on track knowing well that sides below them can catch up quickly if there are any more missteps.
On the other hand, CSK have sufficient depth, personnel and balance in their batting department and their pacers with their variety have stood up, as has the spin department.
In the three matches played the Ekana stadium in this edition so far, 200 hasn't been crossed even once.
