Upon their return, the team was met with a warm welcome from a large number of fans who had gathered outside the Indira Gandhi International Airport, despite the rainy conditions and tight security.

The team's arrival came after a notable victory at the

T20 World Cup

held in Bridgetown, concluding a journey that had been previously delayed due to Hurricane Beryl. The fans, some of whom had travelled significant distances and arrived in the early hours of the morning, were eager to celebrate the team's triumph, marking the end of an 11-year wait for an ICC trophy.

The BCCI facilitated the team's return by arranging a special charter flight, designated AIC24WC - Air India Champions 24 World Cup, which departed from Barbados and landed in Delhi after a 16-hour direct flight.
At the airport, the presence of heavy security did not deter the fans' spirits, who enthusiastically cheered for the players, particularly highlighting star batter Virat Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma, and outgoing head coach

Rahul Dravid

.
Notably,

Suryakumar Yadav

and Rishabh Pant actively engaged with their bhangra moves, while Rohit Sharma, holding the trophy, and Virat Kohli, acknowledged the fans' support before departing.
Following their arrival, the team met the Prime Minister and then proceeded to Mumbai for a victory parade and a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium, with BCCI secretary

Jay Shah

and Rohit Sharma encouraging public attendance to celebrate the team's success.
