At the practice facility of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in
Dharamsala
, a local cricketer requested batting legend
Virat Kohli
for an autograph, and Virat's response in Punjabi became the talk of the town on social media.
IPL 2024: Results | Points Table
Kohli is currently in Dharamasla with the
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
(RCB) squad that is scheduled to face hosts Punjab Kings in their next Indian Premier League match on Thursday.
Visiting the nets, the young cricketer requests Virat to sign and write his name, 'Sai', along with it. Probably confused between the soundalikes 'Sai' and 'sign', Virat breaks into a laughter and then asks the young man again in Punjabi, "Naa ki hai tera (what is your name)?" before signing on the notepad.

Virat currently leads the IPL 2024 run-scoring charts with 542 runs in 11 innings. However, RCB have won only four of their 11 matches so far, which gives them 8 points and seventh spot on the table. Punjab too have 8 points but are behind RCB on net run-rate.
Both the teams still have an outside chance of reaching the playoffs, but will not just have to win their remaining three matches but also hope for results in other matches to turn out in their favour.
