NEW DELHI: A video showing a group of
African children
reenacting the assassination attempt on
former US President
Donald Trump has gone viral, sparking lively debate among netizens with some calling the clip morbid and others taking a lighter note.
The video, originally posted on TikTok and later reshared on X, depicts a group of kids acting out the key moments of the failed attack that took place during Trump's election rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
In the video, one child portrays Trump, while the others take on the roles of
Secret Service officers
and Trump supporters.
The kids meticulously recreate each stage of the event, including Trump's iconic fist-pumping gesture and shouting "fight ... fight", after the assassination attempt.
Most netizens took the video on a light note, with one commenting: "What is so sad is that the Kid had better protection than Trump did that day."
Another user commented: "They reacted faster and better than the secret service."
The comments come as serious allegations have been levelled at the Secret Service's perceived failure to react quickly enough and spot the shooter earlier.
Other users meanwhile called the clip disturbing and raised questions about the appropriateness of exposing children to such violent content.
