Allrounder

Venkatesh Iyer

is about to conclude his stint with

Lancashire

in England and return home for the domestic season opener, the Duleep Trophy, as the County side shared a fun video of its 'This or That' segment on social media.
Iyer has played five List A matches for the club in the One-Day Cup and a first-class game so far in the County Championship against Surrey.

However, it hasn't been a memorable stint, which will conclude with Lanchashire's next match.
His scores in the five One-Day Cup games read 15, 4, 9, 15, 25, and he took three wickets. In the County game against Surrey, he registered scores of 4 and 15. But Iyer looked in good spirits in the fun video session, where he was asked to pick one out of the two player names mentioned to him in sequence.

Having landed up in England on recommendation by his Kolkata Knight Riders teammate

Phil Salt

, Iyer understably picked Salt in most of the combinations that were sounded out to him. The player he didn't pick kept getting eliminated.
The combination eventually reached a choice between Brendon McCullum and MS Dhoni, and Iyer had no hesitation in saying "MS Dhoni".
Dhoni's name was then put against Virat Kohli, and Iyer stayed with Dhoni.

However, it was a bit of a quandary for the Indian when Dhoni's name popped up as an option alongside

Sachin Tendulkar

. Iyer paused for a couple of seconds, smiled and then said: "MS Dhoni."

Iyer established himself as a formidable top-order batsman during the 2021 Indian Premier League season. His fine show in that edition helped him earn India call-up for white-ball internationals.
Apart from his prowess with the bat, Iyer also brings a valuable skill-set to the table as a seam bowler.
