, whose love for cricket is well known, mingled with England cricketers as well as budding players at The Oval in London on Friday as part of his announcement of a funding package for grassroot cricket in the region.

on his 'X' account, he is seen engaging in jovial chat with England cricketers besides wielding the willow in a batting session against fast-bowling legend

as well as budding young bowlers.

Sunak cheekily captaioned the video: "Am I ready for the call up @englandcricket?"
The Indian-origin British PM on Friday unveiled GBP 35 million investment in

grassroots cricket

facilities to widen access to the sport within schools.

His interaction with the young group of cricket enthusiasts further emphasized his dedication to promoting the sport, as the youngsters lined up to get Sunak's autographs and to get clicked with the Prime Minister.

Anderson, in response to the funding announcement, expressed optimism.
"Being in a dressing room of very few state-school players, this could just make a huge difference. I would have loved the chance to play more at school. I know my mates who showed an interest in it would have liked access to the equipment and to have played more - but we just didn't," said Anderson.
