England needed 205 runs more for a win when play began post lunch on Day 4 of the second Test between India and England at
Vizag
, which made
Ben Stokes
crucial to the equation. But he has himself to blame for some casual running, as
Shreyas Iyer
pounced on and opportunity with a
direct hit
that found the England skipper short of his crease.
With six down, England, who lead the five-match series 1-0, already had their backs to the wall.
And Iyer pulled off a stunning effort in the field to produce the seventh wicket for India.
It was the 53rd over of England's second innings, when Ben Foakes and his skipper tried to steal a single. Stokes took it a little easy, perhaps thinking he will reach the crease easily. But running in from mid-wicket, Iyer threw down the stumps direct and the replay showed Stokes short of the crease.

Opener Zak Crawley top-scored for England with 73, which kept the visitors in with a chance until he became Ravichandran Ashwin's third wicket of the day.
