NEW DELHI:
Rohit Sharma
keeps the atmosphere lively with his antics on the field and during the second day of the second Test against England the Indian skipper was spotted enjoying a light moment with umpire
Marais Erasmus
.
The incident took place when pacer
Jasprit Bumrah
's yorker hit
Jonny Bairstow
on his pads leaving Rohit to ponder whether to go for DRS or not after the umpire turned down the appeal.
Rohit sought input from wicketkeeper KS Bharat, who lacked the confidence to persuade his captain to opt for a review. Even Bumrah was not sure and just before the DRS clock expired, Rohit approached umpire Marais Erasmus to gather his opinion on the matter.
"Marais, what do you think?" Rohit was heard saying on the stump mic. "Leg bye", Marais responded.
Bumrah took six wickets as India bowled out England for 253, with the hosts leading by 143 on day two of the second Test on Saturday.
England lost wickets at regular intervals and, despite a quick start courtesy of Zak Crawley's 76, their innings ended in the third session in Visakhapatnam after skipper Ben Stokes' 47.
