NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals captain
Rishabh Pant
is known for playing unorthodox shots in matches. And his unorthodox shots get the desired results as well.

Sometimes it's a one-handed flick, sometimes
Pant
falls after playing a shot, and then he has also shown his own version of the
helicopter shot
as well.
Ahead of Delhi Capitals' match against Kolkata Knight Riders, the host broadcaster shared a video on X in which Pant talks about how practicing unorthodox shots in training helps him play better during the match.
Pant says, "The shots come on instinct, have to practice as well, and some shots are pre-planned as well, you expect that the bowler will do this, so I can do that, so it's a combination and add-ons of a couple of things of what's there in the mind that this can be done."
"There's a build-up when the bowler bowls, at good length, you tried a little so he can feel he can pitch it up even more, so there's a calculation involved and that's why we practice so that we build a
muscle memory
. Practice so much that you don't have to think, you see the ball and hit the ball, that's why we practice so much. That helps in the match, we see the ball and execute the shot," Pant adds.
With five wins and five defeats from ten games, Delhi Capitals are at the sixth spot in the points table.
