NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have initiated their
pre-tournament camp
for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, with domestic players hitting the training ground under the watchful eyes of new head coach
Andy Flower
and Director of Cricket Mo Bobat.
Despite the absence of star player
Virat Kohli
, who is yet to join the squad after a paternity break, skipper Faf du Plessis and West Indies fast bowler
Alzarri Joseph
were among those present as the camp got underway on Wednesday.
According to sources, Kohli is expected to link up with the team in the coming days as preparations intensify ahead of RCB's IPL campaign opener against reigning champions Chennai Super Kings on March 22.
"I think he's an incredible coach. So I feel the team is very lucky to have him, a kind and big hearted man," remarked du Plessis, expressing his admiration for coach Andy Flower during an interaction with RCB 'Bold Diaries.'
Meanwhile, Flower himself shared his enthusiasm for the new chapter with RCB, emphasizing the privilege and excitement of being part of the franchise.
"New chapter to write in RCB story, we have been given the chance to write and it is a privilege, something to be very excited about," he stated.
With anticipation building for Kohli's return and the team gearing up for the challenges ahead, RCB fans eagerly await the start of the IPL season, hoping for a successful campaign under the guidance of their new coaching setup.
