NEW DELHI: He may have been targeted over his so-called slow

strike rate

in

but there is no iota of doubt that

Virat Kohli

is still the best batsman in the country across formats.
Virat is the Orange Cap holder in this edition of the IPL with 634 runs in 12 matches, his runs coming at an average of 70.44 and a strike rate of 153.51.

's IPL match against Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, the official X handle of the Indian Premier League shared a video which has

Kohli

talking about reinventing himself in the ever-evolving process.

The video has Kohli saying, "I am certainly not a guy who wants to sit around saying this is the way I play and not improve on the things that I need to. The understanding of your game over so many years is something that allows you to practice less but still stay mentally switched on."
"For me it's still quality over quantity, that's something I try to replicate in every practice session that I go through. And some added challenges in terms of improving your own game because it's an ever-evolving process. I brought out the slog sweep against the spinners. It's something I just mentally put myself in that situation. I'm just like I need to take a bit more risk because I am always looking to expose that side of the field against the spin, which for me has been a massive factor in this IPL," Kohli adds.

"I think it needs a bit more conviction and to take out that thought that props up what if you get out. So I think I have been managing to stay ahead of that thought in this IPL and that's really helped me through the middle overs keeping my strike rate up and keeping the scoring going for the team as well,"

Virat

concludes.

RCB are at the seventh spot in the points table and need a miracle to reach the

playoffs
