The ongoing day-night
Pink Test
between
Australia
and West Indies saw some healthy banter between veteran West Indies pacer
Kemar Roach
and former Aussie skipper
Ricky Ponting
at the end of the second day's play in
Brisbane
, where the Australian batting legend joking said that the pacer owes him 1.5 million dollars.
The conversation in a 'Channel 7' feature found its context dating back to the 2009 Test in Perth when Roach tormented Ponting with a barrage of bouncers, and the spell eventually played a role in Roach bagging an Indian Premier League (IPL) contract soon after.
"I have actually said forever, Kemar, he still owes me about 1.5 million dollars because on the back of that (spell), he was picked up in the IPL auction straight after," Ponting said as the duo had a hearty laugh.
"You could've dealt with it better," quipped Roach to give a even funnier touch to the banter.
"I remember telling the boys, he (Roach) actually bowled a faster spell in Adelaide (during that tour) than Perth," said Ponting, who was hit by one of Roach bouncers in Perth and was forced to retire hurt.
