NEW DELHI:
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
(RCB) batter
Rajat Patidar
showcased a stunning display of power hitting as he smashed four consecutive sixes off the bowling of Sunrisers Hyderabad's
Mayank Markande
in the IPL match in Hyderabad on Thursday.
With sheer precision and timing, Patidar launched each delivery into the stands, igniting a flurry of excitement among spectators and teammates alike.
The ferocity of his strokeplay left the opposition stunned, cementing his reputation as a formidable force in the game.
The incident happened in the 11th over of the innings when Patidar shifted gears against leg-spinner Markande, dispatching him for the first six over long off, followed by another one in the same area. Markande came up with a googly, but Patidar stayed in his crease and heaved it with the spin over deep midwicket for the third six. Patidar hits the fourth and final one over extra cover.
Patidar, who scored a blitzy 19-ball fifty with the help of 2 fours and 5 sixes, also smashed the joint-second fastest fifty for RCB in the IPL along with
Robin Uthappa
, who did it against Punkab Kings, formerly Kings XI Punjab, way back in 2010.
