Close to getting a clearance for full fitness after a prolonged rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy,
Rishabh Pant
rolled the clock back to bring the kid in him out for a game of marbles.
After a horrific car crash that required multiple surgeries and a long recovery phase, Pant is set to return to competitive cricket in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.
Ahead of his much-anticipated comeback, the Delhi Capitals' wicketkeeper-batsman was seen playing a game of marbles with his neighbourhood kids.
“After ages. Quite random in neighbourhood,” the caption on Pant's Instagram story read.
While it is expected that Pant will play solely as a batsman in the initial phase of the IPL, he was seen squatting without any discomfort while playing marbles with a mask on his face to probably hide his identity.
Delhi Capitals' Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, had revealed that Pant will receive the clean chit on his fitness from the National Cricket Academy on March 5 and a call on deciding the captain will be taken only after that.
“He has done everything to get fit and that’s the reason NCA will clear him. Let Rishabh get cleared on March 5, only then we’ll talk about captaincy backups. We are taking a cautious approach with him because he has a very long career ahead of him. We don’t want to push him in excitement. We will see how Rishabh reacts...We will see match by match. We can’t predict,” Ganguly told TOI.
