Having made his international debut in a T20I series against England in 2021, 25-year-old Azam has played eight matches in the shortest format of the game, scoring 29 runs with the highest score of 10.
The T20 World Cup, slated from June 2 to 29 and jointly hosted by the West Indies and USA, looms as the team's primary focus. However, before the prestigious tournament, Pakistan will square off against New Zealand in a five-match T20I series starting April 18.
