NEW DELHI: Indian pacer
Mohammed Shami
recently took to social media, providing fans with a glimpse of his diligent
practice session
in the nets.
Shami shared a video on Instagram, exhibiting an array of batting shots, including flicks, drives, lofted hits, and even a reverse sweep.
In the accompanying caption, Shami emphasized the value of hard work, stating, "Hard work always pays off, whatever you do."
The video showcased his commitment to honing his batting skills.
Known for his prowess with the ball, Shami has proven to be a capable batsman as well. In his 64 Test matches, he has accumulated 750 runs at an average of 12.09, featuring two half-centuries, both achieved in England.
Shami has been involved in several memorable partnerships, contributing to match-saving and entertaining moments.
The veteran pacer enjoyed a stellar ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on home soil, finishing as the leading wicket-taker with an impressive tally of 24 wickets in just seven matches. His exceptional performance included a memorable seven-wicket haul against New Zealand in the semifinals.
Despite his recent success, Shami was not included in the Indian squad for the first two Tests of the upcoming five-match home series against England, set to commence on January 25. The absence is attributed to Shami's ongoing recovery from an ankle injury.
