NEW DELHI: Making a comeback to the side after missing three matches due to a groin injury, Delhi Capitals wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav made an immediate impact with a three-wicket haul in the IPL 2024 match against Lucknow Super Giants.
Kuldeep claimed three wickets, conceding only 20 runs without giving away any boundaries in his allotted four overs.
The left-arm spinner Kuldeep struck twice in his first over by dismissing Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran on the successive deliveries.
Kuldeep began by delivering a nicely tossed-up ball, prompting Stoinis to attempt a shot, resulting in a leading edge that flew straight to Ishant Sharma at backward point.
He then bamboozled the in-form Pooran with a straighter delivery on off, who looked clueless as the ball uprooted the off stump.
Kuldeep then went on to pick up his third wicket in eight balls to get rid of KL Rahul (39), completely deflating the LSG batting.
However, Ayush Badoni (55* off 35 balls) led a terrific fightback smashing a quick-fire unbeaten half-century to help Lucknow recover to a respectable 167/7.
