Their flight took off from Lucknow but was diverted twice after bad weather in Kolkata did not allow their charter plane to land, and they had to spend the night in Varanasi. The flight was first diverted to Guwahati, but after another failed attempt at landing in Kolkata, it had to be diverted again, this time to Varanasi, where it had to be grounded overnight.
The players spent the night in a hotel at Varanasi, but it literally turned into a 'blessing' in disguise as the squad got a chance to visit the

temple.

KKR were on their way back after thrashing Lucknow Super Giants by 98 runs in their IPL 2024 match at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
