NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter
Virat Kohli
was left furious by his dismissal during the
IPL 2024
match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday.
Kohli engaged in a heated exchange with the on-field umpires, expressing his frustration over his dismissal before storming off the field in visible anger.
Kohli's emotions continued to run high as he knocked over the garbage bin upon reaching the dug out and later smashed his bat to the ground on his way to the dressing room.
Harshit Rana
delivered a slow full toss, which seemed to rise to an awkward height as Kohli attempted to evade it before trying to defend.
However, he ended up getting a leading top edge towards the bowler. Kohli swiftly signaled for a review, but it was already under the umpire's review.
Kohli displayed evident displeasure as he made his way back to the pavilion, with the TV umpire adjudging him out. He was out of the batting crease when he made contact. Additionally, the trajectory shown by Hawk-Eye indicated that the delivery was below waist height.
The former RCB captain smashed 7-ball 18 before the controversial decision led to his dismissal.
