NEW DELHI: The

Seattle Orcas

may messed up a fairly straightforward chase and lost to

San Francisco Unicorns

by 23 runs in their

Major League Cricket

2024 match at Church Street Park, Morrisville on Monday, but they didn't go down without a fight.
Winning the toss and asking the Unicorns to bat first,

Cameron Gannon

took 3 wickets for the Orcas as they restricted the Unicorns to 165/7 despite a 32-ball 56 by

Matthew Short

.

The Orcas, chasing 166, got off to a good start, scoring 54 runs at the end of the powerplay without losing a wicket.
Shehan Jayasuriya

launched an offensive against

Pat Cummins

and

Haris Rauf

, while

Ryan Rickelton

was a little inconsistent.

Shehan Jayasuriya smashed 18 runs off the sixth over of the Orcas run chase bowled by Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf.
The first ball was a dot delivery but the second ball was a fast one angling inwards from round the wicket. Jayasuriya prepared for a ramp shot and got a leading edge on contact that flew to the left of the keeper towards third-man for four.

Jayasuriya then slammed a four through the covers on the next delivery and also hit the last two balls of the over for a six and a four.
Jayasuriya fell after a 37-ball 54 - a knock studded with a six and 7 fours, while Haris Rauf conceded 30 runs off his four overs without taking a wicket.
