Virat Kohli

and

Chris Gayle

had a lot of fun when the Jamaican giant walked into the

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

(RCB) dressing room after the team's remarkable win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru last Saturday to qualify for the

IPL 2024

playoffs.
In a video of Gayle's visit shared by RCB on social media, Kohli could be seen teasing his former teammate to become RCB's '

Impact Player

' in the next IPL season.

"Kaka, come back next year. Impact Player rule is on now. You don't have to field anymore. It's designed for you," Kohli jokingly told Gayle, who was a reluctant runner on the field during the twilight of his playing career.
Kohli also autographed his RCB jersey and gifted it to Gayle, famously called the 'Universe Boss', with the message: "To Chris (kaka). With love and best wishes."

Gayle, known to hit monstrous sixes during his playing days as West Indies batsman and freelance T20 franchise player, was part of the RCB squad from 2011 to 2017.

Interestlingly, Kohli currently not just has most runs (708) in the season so far, but also emerged as the batsman to hit most sixes in the league stage.
"Maximum sixes this season, yeah!," Kohli could be heard telling Gayle in the video.
"How much?" Gayle asked.
"37!" said Orange Cap holder Kohli, whose four sixes in the 29-ball 47 against CSK took his tally of sixes in the season so far to 37.

RCB defeated CSK in a do-or-die match to enter the IPL playoffs, where they will now take on third-placed Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator. The team winning that match goes on to play the losing team of Qualifier 1, which will feature table-toppers Kolkata Knight Riders taking on second-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad.
RCB managed to bag the fourth and last spot in the playoffs with a 27-run win over CSK, which was enough to have a better net run-rate than the five-time former champions as both the teams ended up with 14 points each.
It was RCB's sixth consecutive win of the league stage, which completed a remarkable comeback as they had lost seven of their first eight matches this season.
