Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in August 2020, continues to play in the Indian Premier League. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon, however, relinquished the team's captaincy just before the 2024 season, handing it over to batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Whether Dhoni, fondly called 'Thala' by CSK fans, will continue to play the IPL or has already featured in the last competitive game of his decorated career is still unknown.
He is the only captain to have won every ICC silverware, including the Test mace, ODI World Cup and the T20 World Cup. The World Test Championship was introduced by the ICCin 2019 while Dhoni quit Test cricket in 2014.
