The man who dared the security ring and breached it to hug

Virat Kohli

during the second T20I between India and Afghanistan at the Holkar Stadium in

Indore

received a hero's welcome from his friends after the local police released him from detention.
The fan, who became a viral sensation on social media after managing to reach Kohli in the middle of the match, was immediately taken away by security officials, but not before he could embrace his favourite cricketer, who is revered world over, and touch his feet.

In a humble gesture afterwards, Virat urged the security officials to show kindness to the fan.
The video of his welcome, which has gone viral, shows the man's friends garlanding him for what they consider was a feat.

Virat Kohli, along with Rohit Sharma, made a return to the T20Is in the ongoing three-match series against Afghanistan after a gap of 14 months.
India have won the first two matches of the series to take an unassailable 2-0 lead.

The inconsequential third and final ODI of the series will be played on January 17.
