NEW DELHI: England spinner
Shoaib Bashir
on Monday bowled a forgetful over, conceding a whopping 38 runs in a
County Championship
match between Surrey and Worcestershire.
The over saw middle order batter
Dan Lawrence
smacking Bashir for five consecutive sixes after reaching his century.
Lawrence began the over hitting the first ball out of the ground after charging down.
He then followed with three straight sixes, and his fifth six was a slog-sweep over mid-wicket.
Lawrence's assault left Bashir visibly perplexed.
Lawrence tried to join the elite group of players who have hit
six sixes
in an over but Bashir's next delivery was wide down the leg side as it was missed by the wicketkeeper, resulting in five wides.
Following this, Bashir bowled a no ball, which in County Cricket incurs a penalty of two runs.
Lawrence added a single before Bashir ended the forgetful over with a dot ball.
