In a poignant video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) official social media account, Jurel opened up about the profound influence of his father in his cricketing journey, referring to him as his "hero."
Jurel underscored his father's unwavering support and guidance, stating, "If I get the Indian cap, I would like to dedicate this moment to my father.
Because he's my hero."
The announcement of Jurel's inclusion in the squad came following the absence of star batter
Virat Kohli
from the remaining matches due to personal reasons, presenting the young cricketer with a potential opportunity to make his debut for the national team.

Despite awaiting his maiden India cap, the 23-year-old has already showcased promising performances, particularly in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In 13
IPL matches, Jurel amassed 152 runs at an impressive average of 21.71 and a striking rate of 172.73.
The upcoming third Test is slated to commence on February 15 in Rajkot, followed by the fourth Test in Ranchi on February 23. The series will conclude with the fifth and final Test in Dharamsala, starting from March 7.
Currently, the series stands level at 1-1, with India clinching a resounding 106-run victory in the second Test at Visakhapatnam after a narrow loss in the first Hyderabad Test.
