Chennai Super Kings fans were left shell-shocked as MS Dhoni was clean bowled by Punjab Kings pacer Harshal Patel for a golden duck during their IPL 2024 match on Sunday. This was just the second time that Dhoni was dismissed in this year's competition and both dismissals came against Punjab Kings in the past two matches. During the 19th over of the CSK innings, Harshal Patel came up with a brilliant slower off-cutter that dipped on Dhoni and left the veteran cricketer completely foxed. The ball went on to disturb Dhoni's stumps as fans watched in horror. The video of the dismissal has already gone viral on social media and many fans were left completely stunned at Dhoni getting dismissed on the very first ball.

Coming to the match, CSK ended up scoring 167 for the loss of 9 wickets with Ravindra Jadeja top-scoring with 43 and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad scoring 32. For PBKS, both Harshal Patel and Rahul Chahar took three wickets each while fast bowler Arshdeep Singh took two wickets.

"Wicket was on drier side. I have too much respect for him to celebrate when I get him out (on Dhoni). One of the advantages of playing a day game is that the square is quite rough. So the ball starts reversing. In my first over it was reversing. It's all about the feel of that delivery (slower one). More you bowl the better you get. Most batters don't pick it. Have been practicing in the nets, and when it comes out it gives you great results," Harshal Patel said after the CSK innings.
