waged a lone battle with a magnificent unbeaten 105 but it turned out to be not enough as Mumbai Indians fell short by 20 runs in their pursuit of 207 against Chennai Super Kings at
Wankhede Stadium
in Mumbai on Sunday.

At the match's conclusion, with floodlights casting elongated shadows, Rohit made his solitary journey back to the pavilion.
After being put into bat, CSK posted a formidable score. Ruturaj Gaikwad's lively innings of 69 off 40 balls and Shivam Dube's unbeaten 66 from 38 deliveries were pivotal in setting the score.
MS Dhoni's 20 not out off the last four balls of Chennai's innings was the difference as the visitors scored 206-4 in 20 overs. Mumbai could only reply with 186-6.
