NEW DELHI: Remember the back-flip run out by MS Dhoni of New Zealand's
Ross Taylor
at Ranchi in 2016?
As Taylor was going for the second run, Dhoni collected the throw on the bounce and just flicked back the ball onto the stumps, without turning, to dislodge the bails to run out the Kiwi batsman.
Bangladesh
wicket-keeper
Litton Das
emulated the legendary former Indian captain in the
3rd T20I
against
Sri Lanka
at Sylhet on Saturday.
On the last ball of the Sri Lanka innings,
Dasun Shanaka
miscued a pull off
Mustafizur Rahman
to long-on and the batters tried to steal a second. The throw from the deep by
Rishad Hossain
was a poor one as it was well outside the off-stump.
Litton had to run across to glove the ball and then back flicked it without having a look at the stumps. The hit the target and caught a diving Shanaka short of the crease.
Litton was almost near a deepish silly point when he gloved the ball and flicked it behind his back onto the stumps - all this without having a look where the stumps were.
Here's the video of the dismissal:
Sri Lanka cruised to a 28-run victory over Bangladesh in the final T20I to win the series 2-1.
The first of three one-day internationals in Chittagong is on Wednesday.
