Gukesh's success continued as he excelled in the

, ultimately securing the coveted World Championship title in Singapore.
Gukesh became the youngest World champion after beating China's
Ding Liren
in the final. Gukesh won the championship in the final Game, beating Liren 7.5 - 6.5 on points.
Gukesh became only the second player from India to secure the world championship, following in the footsteps of the iconic Viswanathan Anand. Anand, who clinched the prestigious title five times during his career, had achieved his final world championship victory in way back in 2013.
