NEW DELHI: The
Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium
in Hyderabad buzzed with anticipation as the iconic
Mahendra Singh Dhoni
graced the field for his second batting appearance in
IPL 2024
.
In contrast to CSK's previous showdown against the Delhi Capitals, where Dhoni thrilled the Vizag crowd with a quick cameo of 37 runs off just 16 balls, the former CSK skipper entered in the middle with only three balls remaining in the innings.
Though he faced only two deliveries and managed just 1 run, it was a moment of delight for all the fans in attendance.
The stadium reverberated with thunderous applause the moment Dhoni arrived at the crease.
In the previous matches against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans, Dhoni's batting wasn't required as the Yellow Brigade comfortably secured victories.
