NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Royals unveiled their highly anticipated official matchday jersey for the upcoming
IPL 2024
season. The jersey pays homage to the resilient spirit of the warriors who have risen from the state of Rajasthan in the past, as well as those who persistently contribute to society across various domains in the present era.
The newest jersey was introduced through an entertaining video featuring Royals' talisman
Yuzvendra Chahal
.
In the lighthearted video, Chahal assumes the role of designing an outfit not just for himself but also for his teammates.
Being a team that has become synonymous with the use of the color pink, the inaugural IPL champions have again produced a modern-looking jersey with integration of classical elements that pay homage to the legacy and the essence of Rajasthan.
The design on both the front and the back of the jersey is akin to a shield which is a testament to all the past and present great warriors of Rajasthan found across various walks of life.
The overarching shield design also represents the fighting spirit and the never-say-die attitude of our Royals on the cricket field, and is further intricately woven with finer elements in white that beautifully narrate the tales of our regal state.
The jersey showcases the distinctive bandhani pattern inspired by Rajasthani women's traditional attire, featuring dots and vibrant colors that represent the joy and festivity of the Royals' home state.
Additionally, the design draws inspiration from Rajasthan's historical architecture, incorporating patterns reminiscent of the jali work found in palaces and forts.
The hot pink symbolizes strong women and hospitality, while the admiral blue emits royalty and poise. These elements are incorporated into both matchday and training kits, with the latter predominantly featuring admiral blue as the primary pantone with hot pink accents.
