A spectacular running catch by England captain
Ben Stokes
produced a moment of brilliance in the field on day three of the second Test between India and England in
Vizag
.
Shreyas Iyer
and
Shubman Gill
had added 81 runs for the second wicket, after veteran legendary pacer James Anderson bowled a brilliant spell on the third morning to dismiss openers Rohit Sharma and first-innings double centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal cheaply.
It was then that Stokes pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Iyer (29) off left-arm spinner
Tom Hartley
.
Trying to hit Hartley over long-on, Iyer failed to middle the ball that turned. It resulted in a half-chance for mid-off fielder Stokes, who ran back almost 25 yards to get both hands to it and completed a spectacular effort.
It was the third Indian wicket to fall on Sunday, which kept England in the game despite India building on their big first-innings lead to have their noses well in front.
