NEW DELHI: A shocking Decision Review System (DRS) call has left cricket fans astounded during the second Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram on Saturday.
During the 44th over,
Taijul Islam
bowled to Sri Lankan batsman
Kusal Mendis
, who defended the ball with ease. However, Bangladesh's
Najmul Hossain Shanto
, standing at the other end, thought he saw something different and opted for a review, believing there was a chance of an LBW (leg before wicket) dismissal.
To everyone's disbelief, the replays clearly showed that the ball had struck the middle of Mendis's bat, making it one of the worst DRS calls ever made.
