NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals' all-rounder
Axar Patel
showcased remarkable athleticism by grabbing a stunning one-handed catch, sending Mumbai Indians' opener
Ishan Kishan
back to the pavilion during the
IPL 2024
match at Mumbai's
Wankhede Stadium
on Sunday.
Ishan, displaying a flair for attractive strokes, was going strong until he struck one fiercely back to Axar, who snatched a sharp catch to dismiss the Mumbai opener for 42 runs off just 23 deliveries.
The dynamic left-hander had smashed four boundaries and two sixes in his swashbuckling knock.
Ishan appeared stunned and in disbelief watching Axar's extraordinary effort.
Later in the innings,
Romario Shepherd
unleashed a flurry of boundaries, plundering 32 runs off pacer Anrich Nortje's final over.
Mumbai Indians' batting unit clicked in unison, propelling them to a commanding total of 234 for 5 against Delhi Capitals on that Sunday.
Shepherd mercilessly targeted Nortje, striking four sixes and two fours in his unbeaten 39 off just 10 balls, contributing to the fourth-highest total of the IPL season for MI.
Notably, this also marked their highest score at Wankhede Stadium.
